CURING TIME
After applying the epoxy finish, it's crucial to allow sufficient curing time before conducting any wet cleaning. Typically, a period of seven days is recommended to ensure proper curing, although this duration may vary depending on site conditions and ambient temperatures. During this curing period, it's advisable to use suction cleaning or lightly sweep the floor with a soft broom.

AFTER INSTALLATION CARE
Following the installation of a new epoxy flooring system, it's essential to allow adequate time for the floor to fully cure before subjecting it to foot traffic. Typically, light foot traffic may be permissible after 24 hours at optimal temperatures, but full curing may take up to 7 or 14 days, depending on environmental conditions. During this initial period, it's critical to prevent the accumulation of dust and sand, as these can become abrasive and compromise the integrity of the floor over time.

CLEANING
When it comes to cleaning epoxy floors, a variety of methods can be employed, depending on the level of soiling. For lightly soiled areas, damp mopping suffices, while heavy-duty machine scrubbing may be necessary for ground-in dirt or compacted oil and grease. It's important to select appropriate equipment tailored to the size and nature of the cleaning task. Avoid abrasive or acidic cleansers, opting instead for gentle cleaning solutions and soft-bristled brushes to prevent damage to the floor's surface.

TREATING STAINS (WITHIN 12 HOURS)
Addressing stains promptly is crucial to preventing them from setting onto the epoxy floor surface. Using appropriate cleaning products, treat food stains, tyre marks, or other blemishes within 12 hours of their occurrence. Acid-based cleaners may be used sparingly if diluted properly, followed by neutralisation, and rinsing with clean water.

MECHANICAL SCRUB - COMMERCIAL / INDUSTRIAL (EVERY 6-12 MONTHS)
Periodic mechanical scrubbing is recommended for commercial and industrial settings to deep-clean epoxy floors and remove accumulated dirt and debris. Soft poly brushes and pH-neutral cleaners are typically used for this purpose, followed by rinsing with clean water to ensure thorough cleaning.

ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
Regular maintenance is key to preserving the appearance and longevity of epoxy floors. The frequency and extent of maintenance activities will depend on various factors, including the level of activity in the area, desired cleanliness standards, and the type of soiling present on the surface. It's important to implement a proactive cleaning routine using suitable equipment and cleaning agents to remove surface dirt and debris effectively.

/
IMPACT DAMAGE REPAIRS
In the event of impact damage to epoxy floors, prompt action is necessary to prevent further damage and maintain the floor's integrity. Consulting a professional for repairs is advisable to ensure proper remediation and prevent the ingress of water or chemicals into the damaged area.

EQUIPMENT AND SWEEPING
Selecting the right equipment for cleaning and sweeping is essential for maintaining epoxy floors. Mechanical or electrically driven equipment is preferred, and options include brooms, brushes, suction cleaners, and mechanical sweepers. Regular sweeping helps prevent the accumulation of surface dirt and debris, reducing the risk of abrasion and maintaining the floor's appearance.
09
/
POLISHING EPOXY FLOORING
Periodic polishing of epoxy flooring helps protect the surface from minor scratches and abrasions while enhancing its appearance. Approved clear polymer glaze coats or wax polishes are typically used for this purpose, with multiple coats applied as needed to achieve optimal protection.

COMMERCIAL KITCHENS
In commercial kitchen environments, daily mechanical scrubbing is essential to remove fats, oils, and food debris from epoxy floors. Using stiff bristle brooms or mechanical scrubbers, combined with pH-neutral cleaners, helps maintain a clean and hygienic workspace.
11
/
SCRATCH OR SCORING DAMAGE
If the surface of an epoxy floor sustains scratches or scoring, it's important to clean the affected area using approved cleansers and apply a protective polish or glaze coat to prevent further damage. Repeated applications of polish or glaze can enhance scratch resistance over time.

CHEMICAL & OIL BASED SPILLAGES
Immediate attention to chemical or oil spillages is necessary to prevent damage to epoxy floors. Prompt clean-up using appropriate cleaning procedures helps mitigate the risk of colour changes or impairment to the floor's mechanical performance. Failure to adhere to recommended maintenance practices may result in reduced slip resistance and void warranties.
